CNN —Phil Mickelson has opened up about his gambling addiction, saying on Monday that it was like a “hurricane” which “caused a lot of damage” in his life. Mickelson, who has previously talked about his struggles with sports gambling, posted on X – formerly known as Twitter – about his journey with his addiction in reference to the beginning of the NFL season. “Most of you will enjoy this football season with moderation while having lots of fun and entertainment,” the six-time major winner wrote. It’s like a hurricane is going on outside and I’m isolated in a shelter oblivious to what was happening. Mickelson went on to give his advice to others that might be struggling with gambling problems.

CNN —Former NFL player Sergio Brown is missing, and his mother was found dead Saturday near a creek in a Chicago suburb, according to police. “Maywood Police Officers initiated a missing person report and began making attempts to locate both individuals,” the news release read. Sergio Brown, 35, played for Notre Dame before signing with the New England Patriots as an undrafted free agent in 2010. He played seven seasons in the NFL as a member of the Patriots, Indianapolis Colts, Jacksonville Jaguars and Buffalo Bills. American Tausaga-Collins won the competition with a huge throw of 69.49 meters, beating her previous personal best by nearly four meters and winning the United States’ first ever world championship gold in women’s discus.
